Black History Performance
Our youth educated the community about the accomplishments of many different African Americans during our annual Black History Performance.
Singing, playing musical instruments and poetry renditions were all included and there was never a dull moment.
Youth between the ages of 5-13 intelligently articulated the achievements of African Americans that led the way for African Americans today.
Harriet Tubman, Garrett Morgan, Dr. Mae Jemison, Joseph Winters, Rosa Parks, Sarah Walker, Jackie Robinson and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were just a few of the many mentioned.
Students also spoke about the achievements of black colleges and ended the performance with an inpsiring poem entitled "I Believe in Me".

Martin Luther King Day Celebration
Our youth made us proud during Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Centennial Park!
Through a beautiful rendition of "Stop Using the N Word", a poem recited by 15 youth ages 6-13, our children reminded us that with the achievements of African Americans throughout our history we no longer have an excuse not to achieve our goals.
This performance helped everyone in attendance to see the need to be uplifting to one another and not tear each other down with our words.
Great job to all of the children that particpated in relaying this power message!
