Abdul 'Haq Muhammed

Abdul'Haq Muhammed is the founder of Quality Life Center and has served as its Executive Director since the organization was formally incorporated in 1992. Mr. Muhammed has a vision for uplifting children and adults through confidence-building programs based on core values that will teach the tools of a rewarding life.
Mr. Muhammed has more than 30 years of experience in designing and providing positive programs for youth and families. He is also a motivational speaker and effective organizational administrator; conducting workshops on strategic planning and organizational development and training sessions on the following topics:
- Forgiveness and the Joy of Living
- Rising Out of Poverty and Gaining Self-Sufficiency
- Inspiring Youth Toward Human Excellence
- Overcoming the Victim Mentally
- Finding Yourself and Make Progress
- Faith and Freedom
Mr. Muhammed has been an active member of many Southwest Florida community organizations such as:
- Florida Conference of Muslim Americans

- Faith and Freedom Congregation
- News-Press Editorial Board
- Fort Myers Ministerial Alliance
- Lee County Alliance for the Arts

- Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention Committee
He also is a lecturer on Islam in America and The Unity of Faith, as well as an advocate of interfaith dialogue and community development.
Mr. Muhammed has been presented with the:
- "Florida´s Finest" Award by Florida Governor Lawton Chiles (1998) - the State's highest civilian honor, for his dedicated service to the youth and families served by Quality Life Center.
- Preventing Crime in the Black Community Award by Florida's Attorney General (1998)
- Person of the Year by Fort Myers News-Press (1999) - forhis dedicated service to improving the lives of children.
- Liberty Bell Award by Lee County Bar Association (May 1999) - for outstanding community service.
He has also partnered with various businesses, civic, government and interfaith groups in striving to uplift the people in the community.
Mr. Muhammed, a native of Harlem in New York City, attended City College of New York, Fordham University, and the American Muslim Mission. He has studied and worked in North and West Africa and completed the pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia in 1980. Attended Henry George School of Economics in New York City.
